When KIP®, MetaPrint™, or Océ® software applications render half-size TIFF files, what they are actually doing is instructing Ghostscript® or AcroPlot Repro™ to create a full-size TIFF and then scale it down 50% when the file arrives at the plotter. The result is undesirable because grayscales become darker due to the fact that the dots per inch (DPI) of the full-size drawing are now twice as dense or closer together. AcroPlot Repro includes a half-size conversion utility that runs in conjunction with Océ Repro Desk®, KIP Request®, and MetaPrint™ software applications. If AcroPlot Repro is configured as the PDF or DWF processor for Océ Repro Desk®, KIP Request®, and MetaPrint™ software, then the half-size utility will intercept file processing with the additional reduction instructions. Your production workflow remains the same for full and half-size sets! |
